Professional service fee guide

We take great care in the provision of transparent and accurate pricing of all Keatings Funerals services and products. For most funerals in our care, our professional service fee comprises the 5 categories outlined below. These categories cover the various tasks and services typically involved in arranging, planning and conducting a funeral, requiring a minimum staff involvement of approximately 30 hours. Should we honour a request for no ceremony or gathering (ie. an unattended direct cremation), the professional service fee usually comprises of categories 1, 2 and 3 only.

Category 1.

Expertise, guidance, care and attention from a team of professionally trained staff, alongside necessary overhead costs: ($2200 Inc GST) This includes but is not limited to consultation with the family; administrative, coordination and clerical services; preparation and lodgement of the registration of the death; a proportionate cost share of the provision and maintenance of necessary premises and equipment; maintenance of purpose built speciality vehicles; compliance with current workplace health and safety requirements; ongoing training and development of staff; telephone, electricity, rates, taxes and insurances; workers compensation; compulsory superannuation; and standby and penalty rates for the availability of a 24 hour workforce, 365 days a year.

Category 2.

Mortuary transfer vehicle and staff: ($495 Inc GST) This accounts for the management of local transfer (within 40kms) of the deceased into our care at any hour of any day.

Category 3.

All necessary preparation, care and safekeeping of the deceased for the requested duration, in our purpose-built Mortuary Care Centre located in Chinchilla: (Ranges from $550 - $1100 Inc GST) This is dependent on the level of professional care required or requested.

Category 4.

Facilitating of funeral ceremony: ($1705 Inc GST) This category of the professional service fee is based on the provision of funeral personnel required for the organisation and facilitation of viewings, ceremonies and/or gatherings on location. This fee allows for two members of the Keatings Funerals team to facilitate the funeral service. Some funeral services may require additional team members to be in attendance ($275 Inc GST).

Category 5.

Local use of a purpose-built specialty vehicle as required: ($275 Inc GST)
